Apport #9 – A Sidreal Bacchanalia

17/07/26 The Peerhat Manchester
7pm-12pm – Free Entry
A Sidreal Bacchanalia of Sonic Reveries and Transmissions from the Beyond featuring…
Cromlech
Cromlech is the industrial noise rock project of Manchester musician Chris Williams, known for his vast and uncompromising output as Primitive Knot. Emerging from what the press has called Manchester’s “psych undergrowth”, Cromlech pushes Williams’ already formidable sonic extremity into a realm of dense atmospheres, monolithic riffs, and bleak, poetic intensity. While Primitive Knot has long been associated with Godflesh worthy industrial metal and dystopian electronics, Cromlech distils these impulses into something more abrasive, ritualistic, and atmospheric — a project defined by cavernous guitar tone, punishing drum machines, and a sense of apocalyptic grandeur.
Conflux Coldwell
Conflux Coldwell is a ghost hunter. He conducts seances and sonic rituals using machines and secular magic. Broken spy radios, abandoned webcams, circuit bent VCRs, tape loops, field recording in derelict buildings, old synthesizers and other obsolete oddments, are used to summon spectres from noise and nothing. In recent years he has shifted focus to look at personal memory and paramnesia as a form of haunting. He also makes music.
Michael C Coldwell is an artist and musician from Leeds UK. He has been making electronic music for over 20 years, under a variety of different aliases (Conflux Coldwell, CC, The Time Service, Urban Exploration, Micoland). He is also an award-winning filmmaker and media academic, whose multi-modal work is informed by hauntology and the misuse and abuse of communication technologies. His music has received critical acclaim from Wire Magazine, Electronic Sound, A Closer Listen and Moonbuilding.
Raz Ullah + K of ARC
K of ARC is an audio/visual artist from the North of England, working with samples, synthesis and custom-built steel instruments. Since 2016, they have developed live A/V shows of pulsing drones, metallic tones and deep bass percussion alongside cinematic live visuals.
Raz Ullah is a Manchester-based musician, sound artist, and sound designer renowned for his work with analogue and digital synthesis, tape loops, and improvised electronic performance. Born in a Northern English mill town, his distinctive approach to music blends musique concrète, modular synthesis, and field recordings using cassette players and transistor radios as instruments
Emily Zurowski
Emily is a composer, sound artist, and performer based in Manchester. In her work she makes frequent use of synthesisers, samplers, vocals and found sounds. Emily is currently working on her debut album which takes aesthetic cues from works of science-fiction, body horror an occulture. She has worked as a session musician for over five year (synthesiser, vocals) with bands like The Orielles and W.H. Lung, touring internationally and performing at events like SXSW Austin and Green Man Festival. She is currently creating the sound world for short film by Beck Cooley that plays with the idea of industrial noise as sentient, corporeal form.
The Cacotopos
Soundtracking a post-magickal cataclysm of prismatic sludge and unstable realities. Burning electronics perfume the air. Baying horns tear at the sky. Sulphuric guitars ooze through collapsing dimensions while percussive discharges arc across drowned psychic landscapes. In the dark, vast drums and subterranean thrums summon impossible geometries from the wreckage of reason.

Plus…
Sue Fox reads from Scat Boys No.2
A cast of strange and unforgettable figures: the rat-infested lover, the self-styled dominator in his concrete tomb, the junkie with angel hair and hollow eyes, the madman circling the streets, the gentle boy who slipped through time. From the trembling intimacy of a nursery tent to the grotesque rituals of the sexually charged and violent, Fox witnesses, survives, and records it all. A series of fleeting encounters unfolds across bedsits, streets, parks and forests – men who arrive charged with promise, curiosity, or need, and leave behind something stranger: disillusionment, tenderness, sometimes a trace of love.
The Shem Manifestor.
‘Beneath the web, the Internet is awash with botnets, abandoned software doomed to the automated crawling of servers, seeking forgotten and out-of-date systems which they might infect with their own parasitic agency.
Like Golems, they are summoned into existence for singular purposes: here, the parasitic. Presenting a shem – a compromised username as the name of god – it is denied access by the secured server; its rejection is recorded here with the originating IP address.
You can read more about the origins of this project in DⱯRK’s Field Report #1 (link: http://194.164.24.15/FIELD-REPORTS/001%20-%20/fieldreport1.pdf )’
Dream Machine Apparatus
An immersive stroboscopic flicker device invented in 1959 by artist Brion Gysin and William Grey Walter. By shining a light through a spinning cylinder on a turntable at specific frequencies, it induces visual hallucinations, bright colors, and geometric patterns in the viewer’s mind when viewed with eyes closed.
